Apple opened Siri AI to every app developer on Tuesday, in a preview that's part of the iOS 27.3 betas.
Starting with the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 betas, any developer can connect their app to Siri AI through App Intents, Apple said. People can then ask Siri AI in their own words to run an app's actions, "from checking a delivery to booking a reservation to placing an order." Apple is also adding "skills," which let developers teach Siri AI to combine several actions into one. According to The Verge, users won't have to name the app if it's in the foreground, showing a Live Activity, or already the topic of a Siri AI conversation.
For now this is only a developer preview. Apple says it reaches customers "in a few months," and App Store submissions open in the spring. Apple also says it will share more details later about "the terms and usage policies" for these experiences. Siri AI is still unavailable in the EU on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS.
The same beta also turns on Apple Intelligence in China for developers there, MacRumors reports. Alibaba's Qwen model powers features such as Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence, but the China version doesn't include Siri AI. AppleInsider has more on what's included. MacRumors expects iOS 27.3 to ship in December.
When you'll feel it: Not yet. Apple says the feature reaches customers in a few months and App Store submissions open in the spring. Until then, third-party apps only work with Siri AI on developers' beta builds.
