OpenAI doubled the Work and Codex allowance on ChatGPT Pro and called off the Pro 200 cut. Plus stays the same.
A month after announcing a cut to Pro 200's usage, OpenAI doubled the Work and Codex allowance and called off that cut. Plus stays the same.
A month after announcing a cut to Pro 200's usage, OpenAI reversed course.

"We are doubling all usage limits for all Pro 100/200/500 tiers and Business Premium, effective today," Codex lead Tibo Sottiaux posted, adding that OpenAI "won't be reducing usage limits for Pro 200" after hearing users' feedback (Tibo Sottiaux on X, reposted by OpenAI). OpenAI's own pages describe it more narrowly.

The doubling covers the Work and Codex allowance, meaning the usage that powers ChatGPT's agent-style Work mode and the Codex coding agent (ChatGPT release notes). Pro 100 and Pro 500 now get twice their previous Work and Codex allowance. On Pro 200, OpenAI canceled the reduction it announced in a Sept. 29 email: people who still had the higher allowance keep it, and people on the lower one get doubled up to match (OpenAI help center). Prices don't change, and existing subscribers get the new allowance automatically without waiting for renewal. Weekly GPT-6 Pro message limits in Chat stay where they were on Pro 100 and Pro 500, while Pro 200's lower weekly limit rises to match the higher one. Ultrafast stays exclusive to Pro 500. OpenAI's release notes say Business Premium gets more Work and Codex usage too, but don't give a figure. ChatGPT Plus is unchanged.

OpenAI also warns that a bigger allowance "does not guarantee twice as many completed tasks," because usage depends on the model, the task and your settings.
What this means for you: if you pay for Pro, you have more Work and Codex room starting today and don't need to do anything. If you were thinking of canceling Pro 200 over the cut, it's off. If you're on Plus, nothing changes.
