Apple announced Tuesday that its Apple Creator Studio subscription will get an "intelligent assistant, built on Apple models and OpenAI," in Keynote, Pages and Numbers, in beta (Apple, The Verge). Apple says it helps design, animate and refine slides in Keynote, drafts and restructures writing in Pages, and builds tables and suggests charts in Numbers. The three apps also get MCP (Model Context Protocol) support, a standard way for AI tools to plug into apps. Apple says it lets "external AI agents and tools to read content, perform edits, and execute automated actions."

Keynote also gets a new open, JSON-based file format, .keyx, that's built to be readable by other tools and AI agents (MacStories). Creative apps get AI features too: Pixelmator Pro adds Generate Fill, where you circle part of an image and describe the change. Logic Pro for Mac gets a beta assistant that can start a song or set up a vocal track from a single prompt, and its Stem Splitter can now separate drums.

When you'll feel it: in November, as a free update for existing Creator Studio subscribers. For new subscribers it's $12.99 a month or $129 a year in the US, with a one-month free trial.
