Apple's new Siri AI now speaks French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, with today's iOS 27.2 and macOS 27.2 updates.

Apple released iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2 and macOS 27.2 on Monday. The headline change is that Siri AI, the rebuilt, chattier Siri that launched in English-only beta in September, now also works in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish (MacRumors, 9to5Mac). Apple had promised those languages for October when Siri AI launched (Apple). Apple's release notes add a few new Siri AI tricks.

9to5Mac, October 26, 2026, quoting Apple's iOS 27.2 release notes. Siri AI can recall past conversations, draw on photos in Messages, calendar attendees and voicemails, and Excluded Apps chooses which apps Siri can access. Siri AI supports French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, and is not available in the EU or mainland China.

It can recall your past conversations, so you can ask about something it told you last week. It can draw on more of your data, such as photos in Messages, calendar attendees and voicemails, and a new "Excluded Apps" setting lets you pick which apps Siri can't look at (9to5Mac). Photos and Image Playground also add support for Google's SynthID watermarks, which help show whether an image was made or changed with AI. Siri AI is still a beta. It needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer (or an M1-or-later iPad or Mac), and it's still not available on iPhone in the EU or in mainland China.

Try it: update your device, set your device language and Siri language to the same supported language, then go to Settings > Siri > Try Siri AI (Beta). Apple's support page says turning it on puts you on a waitlist, and wait times vary (Apple Support). While you're there, check Excluded Apps if there are apps you'd rather Siri didn't read.
