# AI assistants that make phone calls for you: Gemini, Meta Muse, and Grok Bot compared

> Google, Meta, and xAI each say their assistant can now phone a business for you. We compared what each company has actually documented about who can use it, what it costs, how the call is disclosed, and what you see afterward, as of October 26, 2026.

Three AI assistants now say they can pick up the phone for you. Google's Gemini has a feature called Call for Me. Meta's Muse agent has a phone-call beta. And on October 25, Elon Musk [posted](https://x.com/elonmusk/status/2114365361068138990) that Grok Bot can now call people and businesses. The three are documented very differently. Google has a full help page, Meta has executive posts and news reports, and xAI has one post so far. So this comparison sticks to what each company has published or what has been reported, read on October 26, 2026. We have not tested any of the three, and we label each claim by how well it is supported.

Disclosure: Littlewolf Labs News uses Grok Bot to help run this site. We hold Grok Bot to the same standard here as the others.

## Gemini Call for Me

Google's [help page](https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/18336420) is the most complete documentation of the three. Gemini can call businesses to ask about hours, stock, or quotes, to book or change appointments, and to "navigate phone menus and wait on hold."

**Who can use it.** You must be 18 or older and in the US, use a Pixel 11 with a US SIM card, run the Public Beta version of the Phone by Google app, set your device language to English, and "have a Google AI subscription." The page doesn't say which tier. Google's [subscriptions page](https://gemini.google/subscriptions/) lists Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month, Pro at $19.99, and Ultra from $99.99. Its [AI plans page](https://one.google.com/about/google-ai-plans/) mentions "AI-powered calling for local businesses (US only)" under Ultra, alongside Search features, and doesn't say whether that is the same feature. Google says it is "gradually making this feature available to eligible users."

**How the call works.** You describe the task, and Gemini shows a summary of the number it will call and the details it will share, like your name and contact info. You tap Call for me to start. Calls go out over "your device's mobile network and your phone number," and "standard carrier rates apply." For now, Gemini can call only US numbers. Every call opens with Gemini saying it is "an AI assistant from Google calling on a recorded line on your behalf," and stating your name.

**What you see.** You can follow a live transcript or listen to the live audio, with your microphone muted by default. Tap Take over, and Gemini announces that you're taking over, then leaves the call. Afterward, you get a summary in the Gemini app, and the full transcript and recording are saved in the Phone app's call history.

**Limits.** There are daily call limits. Gemini can't call 911 or other emergency services, make payments or share card numbers, relay sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, passwords, or health information, or make telemarketing calls. People who don't want calls from Gemini users can opt out.

[TechCrunch reported on September 24](https://techcrunch.com/2026/09/24/google-tests-letting-gemini-make-phone-calls-initially-for-us-pixel-owners/) that Google is starting small because "real-world conversations are nuanced."

## Meta Muse phone calls

**Vendor claim.** On September 16, Meta's chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, [posted](https://x.com/alexandr_wang/status/2100349174529265967) "we're expanding our ☎️ 📞 beta for muse!" According to [404 Media](https://www.404media.co/meta-tests-muse-ai-agent-calls-that-are-actually-made-by-humans-in-a-call-center/), the Muse principal engineer Ryan Fox posted the same day that Meta had "just expanded the @muse beta for outbound calls to US businesses."

**What Meta documents.** Meta's [Muse subscriptions help page](https://www.meta.com/help/subscriptions/1021145227643680/) lists a free tier with a usage limit, a Power plan at $20 a month with 500 million Muse tokens a week, and a Maximum plan at $100 a month with 3 billion a week. It says Muse and its subscriptions "are in limited testing and aren't available in all locations yet." The page doesn't mention phone calls, and we found no separate price for them.

**Reported.** [Reuters reported on September 22](https://wincountry.com/2026/09/22/exclusive-meta-testing-a-human-concierge-for-its-new-personal-ai-agent-muse/), citing internal posts, that a Muse user can have the agent call US businesses to book haircuts, check stock, or get quotes. Reuters and 404 Media both reported that Meta was also testing a "human concierge," in which human contractors placed some calls. A Meta vice president told employees "it was a miss" to start testing contractor-placed calls without proper disclosures and that Meta had "rolled back this feature" for now, according to Reuters. A Meta spokesperson told Reuters the company "will only roll it out when it's ready and with the proper disclosures." 404 Media quoted an internal post saying Muse "reports back with a transcript and a summary."

What we couldn't confirm: whether Muse calls use your number or Meta's, how a Muse call introduces itself today, and which users have access.

## Grok Bot calling

**Unconfirmed.** On October 25, Elon Musk [posted](https://x.com/elonmusk/status/2114365361068138990) that "Grok @Bot can now call someone or a business for you, make a request on your behalf, take notes on the response and send you a note summarizing the conversation!" Musk leads xAI, which makes Grok Bot, so this is a vendor claim.

On October 26, xAI's [Grok Bot changelog](https://x.ai/changelog/bot) was at version 0.75.5, dated October 23, and had no entry for outbound calls. Earlier changelog entries cover voice calls between you and your Grok Bot, which is a different feature. We found no help page for outbound calling, and no published details on who can use it, what it costs, which countries it covers, whose number it calls from, or how it introduces itself.

We'll update this section when xAI documents the feature.

## What we could not verify

- **Which Google AI plan Call for Me needs.** The help page says only "a Google AI subscription."
- **Whether Google's Ultra "AI-powered calling for local businesses" line is the same feature** as Call for Me.
- **Muse call details.** Meta hasn't published a help page on Muse calls, so the caller ID, disclosure wording, regions, and any price are unconfirmed.
- **Anything about Grok Bot calling** beyond the October 25 post.

## What to weigh

Of the three, only Google has published the rules for its calling feature, including the eligibility list, the disclosure line, and the things it won't do. Meta's feature is a beta known mostly through executive posts and news reports, including reports about a human-contractor test that Meta says it rolled back. Grok Bot's feature is, for now, a single post. Before you hand any of these a call, consider what personal details the assistant will share and whether the business on the other end will be told it is talking to an AI. Also check whether you can listen in or take over.
