Model & Plan Comparisons

AI video plans at $10, $30, and $100 a month: what each one buys (October 2026)

Runway, Luma, Google's Flow, and Kling all sell video generation as monthly credits. We converted each plan's credits into seconds of video at the vendor's own rates, as of October 19, 2026.

By Anthony Littlewolf Perez

Every major AI video tool sells the same thing in a different unit: credits. A credit means something different in each app, and the credit cost changes with the model, resolution, and clip length. So we did the conversion. For each plan, we took the monthly credits and divided by the vendor's own published credit rate for one common setting. The result is roughly how many seconds of video the plan buys. We read every price on the vendor's own page on October 19, 2026, in US dollars before tax. Kling is the exception, explained below. These are list prices and allowances, not a quality test, and a second of one model is not the same as a second of another.

How each app charges

  • Runway sells monthly credits. Its Gen-4.5 model costs 12 credits per second of video. Plans also include third-party models such as Kling 3.0 and Seedance. Standard and Pro credits don't roll over. Max rolls over up to one month of credits. Extra credits are sold in blocks of at least 1,000 and never expire. The free plan is a one-time 125 credits.
  • Luma sells monthly credits that work across its own Ray models and third-party models, including Kling, Veo 3.1, and Seedance. It publishes a per-model rate table. Its own Ray3.14 costs 20 credits per second at 720p and 80 at 1080p. The page lists no free plan.
  • Google Flow comes with Google AI plans. Everyone gets 50 free credits a day, and subscribers get a monthly allowance on top. An 8-second Veo 3.1 Fast clip costs 20 credits, or 10 for Ultra subscribers. An 8-second Veo 3.1 Quality clip costs 100. Google notes that costs are per generation, and one request can make two videos. Unused credits don't roll over.
  • Kling sells monthly credits in its own app. Its membership page did not load for us, so the Kling figures below are reported, not verified. Promptif reported on October 15 that Kling 4.0 costs 15 credits per second at 1080p and 10 at 720p.

Runway Standard$15, or $12/month billed yearly62552 seconds of Gen-4.5

Who it suits. People trying out AI video, or making the odd short clip for a thumbnail or B-roll. At this tier, the free daily Flow credits matter almost as much as the paid ones.

Around $30 a month

PlanPrice (monthly billing)Credits a monthRoughly buys
Google AI Pro$19.991,000 Flow credits, plus 50 a day50 Veo 3.1 Fast clips (400 seconds), or 10 Veo 3.1 Quality clips (80 seconds)
Luma Plus$30, or $25/month billed yearly10,000500 seconds of Ray3.14 at 720p, or 125 at 1080p. Or about 204 seconds of Kling 3.0 at 1080p with audio.
Kling Pro (reported)$32.563,000200 seconds of Kling 4.0 at 1080p
Runway Pro$35, or $28/month billed yearly2,250187 seconds of Gen-4.5

Who it suits. Creators producing B-roll or short scenes every week. Google AI Pro is the cheapest entry here, and it also includes Gemini 4 Argon in the Gemini app and Antigravity. Luma is the only plan in this group that names commercial use on its pricing page. Check each vendor's terms before using clips commercially.

Around $100 a month

Kling Premier (reported)$80.968,000533 seconds of Kling 4.0 at 1080p
Luma Pro$90, or $75/month billed yearly40,0002,000 seconds of Ray3.14 at 720p, or 500 at 1080p
Runway Max$95, or $76/month billed yearly9,500791 seconds of Gen-4.5. Up to a month of unused credits rolls over.
Google AI Ultra ($100 tier)$99.9910,000 Flow credits, plus 50 a day1,000 Veo 3.1 Fast clips at the Ultra rate (8,000 seconds), or 100 Veo 3.1 Quality clips (800 seconds). Veo 3.1 Lite at lower priority costs 0 credits for Ultra subscribers.

Who it suits. Channels or small studios generating video most days. At this tier, the differences are less about price and more about which models you want and whether unused credits carry over.

Luma pricing: Plus is $30 a month for 10,000 credits, and Ray3.14 costs 20 credits per second at 720p.

How to price your own month

  1. Pick the model and resolution you actually use. For example, 1080p Kling 3.0, 8-second Veo 3.1 Fast clips, or Gen-4.5.
  2. Find its credit rate on the vendor's own page. Use Runway's pricing page, Luma's rate table, or Google's Flow help page. In Kling, check the price shown in the app before you generate.
  3. Estimate the seconds you need, then double it. Most finished shots take several attempts, so the seconds you generate will be much higher than the seconds you keep.
  4. Divide your monthly credits by that figure. Compare the result with the plan below and above yours.
  5. Check rollover and top-up rules. Runway Max carries a month of credits over. Google's monthly Flow credits do not. Runway's extra credits never expire.

What we could not verify

  • Kling's plan prices. Kling's membership page loads only inside its app, so we could not read it. The prices above match two independent reports, from Promptif and Greg Preece, and a search-engine copy of Kling's own page. Treat them as reported. Promptif also lists lower first-month prices.
  • Higgsfield and Midjourney are left out. Higgsfield's pricing page returned an error, and Midjourney's plans page blocked our request.

What to weigh

  • The model you want. Runway and Luma both resell third-party models such as Kling and Seedance alongside their own. Flow is the way to get Veo through a subscription.
  • How much you generate. At the reference settings, the $10 plans buy about a minute of video or less, and the $100 plans buy many minutes.
  • Rollover. Runway Max is the only plan here whose pricing page says unused credits roll over.
  • What else is bundled. Google AI Pro and Ultra also include Gemini 4 Argon. The others are video-first.
  • Commercial terms. Only Luma's pricing page names commercial use. Check the terms of service for the rest.
