ChatGPT Slides rolls out, and the release notes still say GPT-6 Pro

Oct 16 release notes add ChatGPT Slides for Pro, Business, and Enterprise, and a GPT-6 Pro upgrade. OpenAI's X post was edited to GPT-6 Astra Pro.

On Oct 16, OpenAI's ChatGPT release notes add ChatGPT Slides and an update to the model they name GPT-6 Pro.

The Slides page says you can turn a conversation or a template into slides, invite a team to edit and comment, and present in ChatGPT or export to PowerPoint or Google Slides. It says Slides is available to Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.

The help article on creating and collaborating on slides says Slides is still rolling out, so an eligible account may not see it yet. It requires Space access on those same three plans. On a Windows computer that lacks the required piece, the desktop app saves a PowerPoint file instead of a shared Slides deck. Windows 10 does not support that piece. People with edit access can change the same deck at the same time. Comment-only access is not available at launch. On the web, a deck can be exported to PowerPoint, PDF, or Google Slides.

The same release notes say GPT-6 Pro in the chat tab now responds faster, uses plugins and tools more effectively, and can run several agents on different parts of one task. You can follow each agent and open a finished task to see what it did. The update is rolling out to eligible Pro users. In a managed workspace, access depends on the workspace settings and the rollout.

OpenAI's X post at 1:00 PM PT used the name GPT-6 Pro. At 1:27 PM PT the post was edited to GPT-6 Astra Pro. The release notes still say GPT-6 Pro. OpenAI's model help page says GPT-6 Pro is powered by GPT-6 Astra and is available in ChatGPT on Pro $100, Pro $200, Business, and Enterprise. Plus plans include GPT-6 Astra in ChatGPT Work and Codex, not as the Pro option in ordinary Chat.

What it costs

The release notes do not publish a new price for Slides or for the GPT-6 Pro update. Both sit on plans that already exist. The model help page says a Pro subscription does not include unlimited use of GPT-6 Pro.

Should you switch

Try Slides if you already have Pro, Business, or Enterprise and you make decks, once it shows up on the account. Do not change plans for a feature the notes say is still rolling out. When you read the model name, use GPT-6 Pro, which is what the release notes say. The X post now says GPT-6 Astra Pro.
