Claude Platform can now send OpenTelemetry traces of your agents
The Messages API, Claude Managed Agents, and the Claude SDKs can export OpenTelemetry traces of agent turns, model calls, and tool use. Anthropic lists no separate fee.
Littlewolf Labs
In public beta, the Messages API, Claude Managed Agents and the Claude SDKs can export OpenTelemetry traces: records of each agent turn, model call and tool use with latency, token counts and IDs, to Datadog, Sentry, Langfuse, LangSmith, Grafana Cloud or any OTLP endpoint (Claude, ClaudeDevs on X). API and Managed Agents need a destination set up in the Claude Console by an admin; SDKs export from your own code (setup docs). By default traces carry only metadata; a "full content" setting also exports prompts, responses and tool inputs/results, so turn it on deliberately.
What it costs
Anthropic lists no separate fee in the announcement or setup docs.
Should you switch
Running Claude agents in production, this replaces home-made logging. Pin your SDK version; span names can change during beta.
