Before you switch a Cursor seat onto The X Subscription

Grok and Cursor now sit on one product, The X Subscription. The October announcement is on x.ai. Switching is optional. Cursor's help page says the switch is permanent, and that existing Cursor customers can stay on legacy plans, except accounts billed through the Apple App Store.

When not to switch

Stay on the legacy plan if Claude or GPT inside Cursor has to be part of the subscription. x.ai's pricing page says third-party model usage in Cursor is not included in the monthly prices and must be purchased separately. Cursor's help overview says Claude or GPT is billed at API list prices from the first use, paid from prepaid credit.

The shared pool on The X Subscription refreshes weekly. It covers Grok Chat, Imagine, Voice, Bot, and Cursor. Token and message caps are not printed; the page prints multipliers against Plus. Plus is $8 a month and does not include Grok Bot. Premium is $30 and is 4x Plus, and it includes Grok Bot. Super is $100 and is 15x Plus. Ultra is $200 and is 50x Plus.

If you keep the old Cursor plan

Cursor's models and pricing page still lists Pro at $20 a month, Pro Plus at $60, and Ultra at $200 for existing subscribers. Each includes a Cursor Models pool and an Other Models pool, reset monthly. Those are not X Subscription tiers. Legacy Cursor Ultra at $200 is a different plan from X Subscription Ultra at $200.
