Anthropic opened an office in Singapore, its fifth in Asia-Pacific, and signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore's Ministry of Digital Development and Information (Anthropic, EDB). The MOU covers AI safety, security, and model evaluation; research on adoption and its impact; and responsible adoption in the public and private sectors.
Anthropic names GovTech, DBS, Grab, and Sea as customers already using Claude there. Organizations that need data to stay in-region can run Claude with in-region inference on Amazon Bedrock.
What it costs
The announcement lists no new price.
Should you switch
Only if you need Claude inference to stay in-region. The office and the MOU do not change the product for anyone else.
