Claude Haiku 5.5 at $0.10 input, and monthly API credits for Max and Team

Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5 on October 7, completing the Claude 5.5 family. The API model is claude-haiku-5-5.

What it costs

Per million tokens, with two tiers split at 100K-token prompts:

Anthropic says that, on average, Haiku 5.5 costs around 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5. It notes the new tokenizer uses slightly more tokens per task. It is the first Haiku with an adjustable effort setting.

Two other price changes the same day

• Sonnet 5.5 cache reads drop from $0.20 to $0.10 per million tokens.
• A monthly Claude Platform API credit rolls out to subscribers: $100 for Max 5x, $200 for Max 20x, and up to $500 for Team, pooled across users. Anthropic says it can be used on any model.

Where it shows up

GitHub made Haiku 5.5 available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise the same week.

Should you switch

Anthropic positions Haiku 5.5 for summaries, classification, compaction, and subagent work, and says Sonnet and Opus remain better for complex agentic coding. If you are on Max or Team, check your account for the new API credit.
